I began playing at the age of 8 as a self taught pianist. I took lessons from age 12, and started playing synths at 13, inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis.

At 14 I took up drums, followed over the next few years by guitar, bass guitar, sax and cello. I took a recording studio course at 17 and developed my studio and live sound engineering skills, alongside an interest in computer music and sequencing – still in its early days in the late 1980s!

I hold Grade 8 Distinction on piano, along with Grade 8 Theory of Music and Grade 8 Practical Musicianship.

I am a qualified post-16 teacher, having taught piano & keyboard privately and A Level Music Technology and Music. I have conducted choirs, orchestras and jazz bands, and also worked in a variety of bands – tribute bands to Prince, Glam Rock, 80s Synth Pop and Soul among others.

I’m available for session work, piano solo work for weddings and parties, in private venues, restaurants etc. and recording work.

I am also available for piano teaching sessions. Find out more on the ‘Lessons’ page.
